A second, coequal virtual machine
Stylus adds a second, coequal virtual machine to the EVM that executes WebAssembly. Rust has the first-class, fully supported SDK, and C and C++ are also supported. Solidity contracts and Stylus contracts are interoperable.
Batched execution, settled on Ethereum
Arbitrum orders many transactions into a batch, executes them on its own infrastructure, and posts compressed data and a state commitment back to Ethereum.
Lower fees through a data availability committee
Instead of posting everything to Ethereum, a small committee keeps the data available — reducing fees at the cost of decentralization. Arbitrum Nova is an AnyTrust chain that the Arbitrum Foundation operates.
